On Thursday, May 10th, VCM Builders, full-service construction firm, took home the coveted trophy at the City of Fort Lauderdale Community Appearance Awards for Beach House, a new single-family development in east Fort Lauderdale developed by Macken Companies. Two other projects recently completed by VCM Builders, Parallel 1 and Parallel 2 townhome communities, were named as finalists.

The City of Fort Lauderdale Community Appearance Awards are presented annually to celebrate properties that promote aesthetic value to the community and environmental preservation. Macken Companies, a vertically integrated real estate development, construction and brokerage firm, today announced Palmetto Design Center, its seven-acre, 62,500-square-foot shopping plaza at 3791 NW 167 St. in Miami Gardens, has been sold to Rise Star, LLC for $11.85 million. The plaza, completed in 2016, was developed in a joint venture between Macken Companies and Zvi Shiff of DZD Holdings. Monte I.
